The first visit to the dental office is an adaptation visit. It consists in demonstrating to the child instruments and apparatus. The child in an interactive way can play with simple, harmless instruments and get to know everything that interests him, of course under the supervision of our staff. Then we simulate dental procedures, most often by blowing the turbine first into a handle and then into teeth, and also we do varnish the teeth with fluoride varnish or just clean it with a delicate brush. We try not to use the drills on the first visit, unless it is necessary due to the process of inflammation in the pulp.

What can be fillings?

Cleansing cavities is often associated with pain, which is why the type of filling is important as a reward for perseverance during dental procedures. In addition to the classic materials used in permanent teeth are also available colored materials (to choose from seven colors with impressive brocade), which is characterized by an increased amount of fluoride released and minimal abrasiveness.

Of course, every polite patient will receive a surprise prize from us! What does removal of milk teeth look like?

The extraction of milk teeth is obviously painless! Before anesthetizing the patient with the proper anesthetic, we lubricate the mucous membrane at the injection site with a special, fruit gel, which reduces the pain of the needle insertion itself. Extraction takes place quickly and painlessly, especially since often the milk teeth are already much shaken, and their roots partially or completely resorbed (absorbed) in the body. Lapisowanie is a curative treatment that allows you to stop caries, and at the same time saves the tooth from being removed, which is extremely important especially because premature removal of milk teeth threatens later malocclusion. In this technique, the tooth surface is soaked in a silver nitrate solution, and then the silver is precipitated from the solution with a special preparation. After this treatment, the teeth may not look good, because they have a characteristic black color. However, you can be sure that the caries will not attack them anymore, because silver has strong bactericidal properties. This treatment should be repeated three times every three months.

What is lapisowanie?

Impregnation of milk teeth with lapis is a technique that is used when the majority of the surface of a milk tooth is already heavily damaged by caries and it is impossible to put on a filling.

What is this?

Sealing, also known as sealing, consists in covering furrows and hollows in permanent teeth with fissure sealant (the so-called fissure sealer). Furrows and crevices, due to their unfavorable structure, are places that limit self-cleaning and cleansing of food residue with a toothbrush, and facilitate the growth of bacteria, which promotes the formation of caries soon after the appearance of permanent dentition.

When to seal furrows?

The sealing procedure should be carried out 4 months after the tooth has been exuded (the sealed tooth must be so buried that it can be isolated from the moist environment of the mouth). This allows you to continue the process of maturing the tooth, and after its complete eradication reduces the risk of tooth decay. Seals molars and solid molars, premolars, as well as hollows of the upper lateral incisors are sealed. The most threatened caries are sixth teeth (first permanent molars). They appear around the age of 6 - hence the need for preventive sealing. The reduction of caries, even approx. 90%, depends on the maintenance of the sealing material. The loss of the sealer results in inadequate sealing technique and premature protection of the tooth after healing into the oral cavity.

The sealing tooth should be without caries. The doctor prepares the tooth for the treatment, thoroughly removes plaque with a brush moistened with hydrogen peroxide. Then it rinses it with a stream of water under pressure, dries it with compressed air and puts an etching agent on the chewing surface of the lacquered teeth. Rinse the tooth again with water, dry and apply the sealer along the furrow, and then illuminate the polymerization lamp.
